Being a born and bred California girl, I go to the beach when I can,
like today! I love going to the beach because for some strange reason
you just feel refreshed when you leave. Maybe it's just me :). You get
those pretty beach waves, that sun-kissed tan, and sort of a sea breeze
scent to you. I know you probably think I'm crazy, but it's true! So
here we go--my beach must-haves!
What I wear:
You may think California is always warm and sunny, but not all the time!
It's usually cool and foggy and you have to be lucky to get some sun!
So I usually where my denim shorts (made by me), my long cardigan (from
Kholes, by
just a girl)l that goes with everything, and some cute
flip flops! You want to look stylish, but don't go all Hollywood at the
beach! Your bound to get dirty sometime! As for accessories, I wear my
starfish earrings from Singapore!
How much make-up do I wear: If you know me,
you know how much I love to wear make-up! But at the beach, what's the
point? You don't want to end up looking like a raccoon when your mascara
runs, unless you get water proof mascara! But who wants to pay $10.00
for that? So here's what I usually apply: my cheap makeup by profusion
or L.A colors and pencil eyeliner. I use eyeliner to have a bolder
affect on my eyes. USE PENCIL EYELINER ONLY FOR GOING TO THE BEACH, it
doesn't wash off too quickly. Plus, liquid is just too messy! If your
like me, who can't leave the house without her mascara then you may use
clear mascara as well!
What I bring: Okay, Beach towel (check)
Sunscreen (check), bathing suit (check). We've got all the necessities
down, but now for the fun stuff! Like chap stick for example, chap stick
is very important especially for the beach. It prevents dryness and and
protects against harsh rays from the sun. The chap sick that I use and
love is called Nivea Lip Care a Kiss of Moisturizer. If you live in the
U.S you can find it
here
or any drug store. Now to me this is a lifesaver, it carries nutritious
oils such as Shea butter which locks in moisture. You can get flavors
but I suggest the regular, as it's waterproof! Next on the list is, my
sunglasses. You want to protect those purrty eyes! If you don't want to
spend too much money on a pair try these stores (
Target,
Forever 21, Aeropostale). I get mine for less than 10 dollars at these local stores! *for UK residence scroll below*
And now we're on to sunscreen, not the most fun thing to put on our
bodies especially for girls with oily skin, but it's better no be safe
then sorry! I use the vani-cream SPF 60 (yes they make SPF 60). I have
to say it does make your body oily, but you don't fry either.
And that's a rap,
those are pretty much the only things I bring to the beach, oh and my
bathing suit from Kmart of course! So have fun and stay safe at the
beach! :) Wear sunscreen!
